My hairdresser recommended Karen as an alternative to osteopathy when I was suffering the after-effects of a closed head injury, as well as symptoms of whiplash injury. The NHS seemed unable to diagnose or treat any of the symptoms effectively, and after seeing three osteopaths, all of whom in the end made things worse, I decided to give Karen a go.
It was a completely new experience - painful at times during the treatment, but I've come to enjoy the pain as I know it makes a difference afterwards! After the first treatment I had a dramatic improvement in my bladder control, which is still much improved. After five visits I can see a real improvement - not least in my mental energy, after months of being fairly debilitated both physically and mentally.
I love the way it treats the whole body - and pinpoints problems you didn't even know you had, until they've gone. Would thoroughly recommend, even though I struggle to describe to people what it is!

Through Amatsu, and Karen's loving and skillful application, I have been able to free up my body, especially my back. This has, in turn led to other changes in my life, including asking for a reduction of my working week to 3, from 5, days which will enable me to continue to nurture my physical and mental well being.

About 9 months ago I was suffering with pain in my right knee. I had noticed that I appeared to be swinging my leg out to the side barely bending the knee and that my foot was at a 45 degree angle. My leg also felt like it had become longer and I had an uneven gait. Karen examined me and told me that I had a twisted pelvis which resulted in one leg being 1" longer than the other, causing pain in the right knee.
After several treatments my legs are now the same length, the pain has disappeared and my foot is straight instead of pointing outwards. I did experience some pain in the left hip afer treatment especially when turning over in bed. But Karen explained that it was due to the repatterning of my body which was now getting used to using other muscles. After a short period of time the hip pain disappeared. I also suffered with cervical spondylosis in my neck and found it uncomfortable to lie on my back. When I first came to see her I coud'nt lie on the couch without having a pillow under my head. I always slept on my side. I can now sleep on my back and it feels very comfortable, also I no longer require a pillow when having a treatment .My neck is much looser, having more movement , my general health has improved. and my blood pressure has come down considerably!
I'd like to thank her for her dedication, empathy and the informative manner in which she has dealt with me. It has been an eye opening experience as to why the body sets up such patterns. Also a very big thank you for "sorting me out" ! I continually recommend Karen to my clients and I understand some have already benefited from her treatment. Keep up the good work!

I have had problems with my knees for about 5 years. Over these years I have missed months of sport at school and have visited a number of doctors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, cranial-osteopaths and even a knee surgeon to try and stop the pain and the constant problem of them twisting for no apparent reason. i was told most often to rest.
However, after resting when I started doing sport again, I would end up with more severe injuries, once straining two ligaments in my knee.
At this point I was thinking 'Am I ever going to do sport again?'
I heard about Amatsu through a friend and started going to see Karen. Immediately I saw results and by the end of the third visit my knees had stopped twisting randomly altogether!
I have had to wear orthotics to help my knees; I couldn't go anywhere without them for half an hour without getting searing knee pain. This meant I had to wear shoes all the time. Karen thought it would be best to get me off them. So as she treated me and got my body back in line, I didn't need to rely on them as much. Then I didn't need them at all.
Six months later I haven't used them since and my knees are great!
Thank you Karen.

My Dad also decided to have treatment for back pain from an old injury from a car smash. He too has seen chiropractors and orthopaedic consultants and his condition improved but usually deteriorated again. His back is now the best it has ever been and completely pain free for the first time in 20+ years.

My mum also comes to see Karen for her back - and ongoing problems since having her first child. She is a work in progress! With the progress all in the right direction!
Adam (yes, Phoebe again!)
My elder brother has also recently visited Karen having injured his back on a CCF excercise. He also suffers with really taut muscles. His back is much improved and he is generally much looser!

We are now total Amatsu converts and definitely recommend it - especially when treated by Karen of course!

I started having problems with my Achilles tendon. It was extremely painful while I was dancing. Pain killers didn't work and x-rays and blood tests said there was nothing wrong. So I decided to try Amatsu.
After a month there was a slight improvement and after 4 months of having Amatsu I've had no problems with my ankles or my back. My tendons are a lot looser and I feel like I've got a new lease of life,

I came to Karen after suffering from lower back pain for the best part of three months. By this point the pain had been getting worse and worse, and was really getting me down. I was in constant discomfort at work and had been unable to visit the gym for weeks.
I had never heard of Amatsu but decided to give it a try on a recommendation, and found that even after one session things started to improve. The pain didn't go straight away, but it began to ease enough to allow me to start doing some gentle exercise and Karen suggested some other things to work on, such as sitting posture, which all helped.
After only a few sessions it had greatly reduced, and I was able to get back in the gym and slowly start to build up my exercise routine again. I found I was largely untroubled by the pain at work, whereas before it had caused me real discomfort.
Amatsu certainly worked for me and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone else who find themselves in the same situation.

After undergoing several unsuccessful physiotherapy sessions to alleviate a painful neck and shoulder, a friend recommended I see Karen. From the first treatment I felt a definite difference in my stature, inner calmness and general wellbeing. I continue to visit Karen and always come away feeling that my body is back in alignment.
When I get off the treatment table I can only describe the wonderful sensation I experience as ‘air bubbles’ in all my joints and a feeling of joy. Karen tells me that my body responds to her. Thank goodness I say because she gives me back my body blueprint!

I had back problems on and off for 20 years, along with other stiffness and pains. I had had treatment just for my joints but it had stopped working, so when I heard about Amatsu, I thought I'd try it as it involved treating soft tissue too. The treatment itself is fascinating and at the end of the session, I feel pain-free, relaxed and 'unlocked'.

I want to thank you so much for the work you did on my neck. It is nearly back to normal now, and that's down to you.
Thanks again.

I had a lower back pain that suddenly appeared, with no obvious cause. I assumed that it would just disappear and took pain-killers to keep me going. However, after a couple of weeks I was still suffering. My daughter recommended that I try Amatsu - she was so impressed that she is now studying to become an Amatsu practitioner.
I felt much better after the first treatment and totally recovered after three visits. However, I noticed that I also felt generally better after each session; stood more upright, walked more easily and generally felt more flexible after a treatment. I have continued with the sessions every 6 or 7 weeks and by the time I return I'm feeling like some bad habits are appearing again - the treatments seem to put me back into shape.

I first went to Karen in January of this year after suffering an aching back for many years and a recurring twinge in my right knee. Prior to this, I had visited a reflexologist and an osteopath, both of which had been beneficial but had not succesfully dealt with the injuries long-term.
After 3 months of Amatsu therapy, not only have I noticed a significant improvement in my back and no pain whatsoever in my knee, but also a vast improvement with my asthma, I have been able to dramatically reduce my medication which has been an unbelievable bonus.
I find Amatsu to be an amazingly powerful therapy and couldn't recommend it enough. Several people who have followed up my recommendations have also said the same, including my partner and my brother. I love the therapy sessions (which can be sometimes relaxing, sometimes less so!) as I leave feeling 'connected', balanced and energized. I feel as though I can walk on air!
